Windsor Odd Fellows Lodge #215
How to Become a Windsor Odd Fellows Member
A man or woman of good character, who is loyal to his or her country, and believes in a Supreme Being, the creator and preserver of the Universe, is eligible for membership. Odd Fellowship strictly forbids any interference with one's religious beliefs or political opinions. You must to be at least 16 years old. Lodges charge an initiation fee and annual dues. The amount of dues is set by each lodge. The Windsor Lodge currently requires a $95 deposit for the Initiation fee and first year dues at the time of application. A candidate must be sponsored by a current member, so the first step towards joining our Fraternal Order is to find someone who is a current member of the Windsor Odd Fellows (WOF) Lodge. If you do not know a member, then e-mail the Webmaster at [email protected]. She/he will help you with connecting with a Member of our Lodge. If you are not in the Windsor, California area, check your local phone book, or the list of lodges on the IOOF.org website, for a lodge in your area, and contact the lodge secretary. When our Lodge has received your application, we will appoint an interviewing committee of three members. One of these members will call on you to arrange a meeting for interviewing. In the interview, we will ask questions about you and you will have the opportunity to ask questions about the Windsor Odd Fellows and our Fraternity. Another purpose of the interview is to give a candidate (you) at least three familiar faces in the lodge. At the next Lodge meeting, the interviewing committee will report back to the lodge. The lodge will ballot (vote) to accept you as a member. The Lodge will then send you a letter announcing your election to membership and will announce the date and time for your initiation. Until your initiation into the Lodge, you are always invited to all of our open meetings and social events. |
